Robert Corona

Rob was an outdoor enthusiast/amazing dad by day, and a professional waiter extraordinaire by night. He was pretty much content doing the Dad thing on his own. He got to keep his busy, active schedule without having anyone else to consider, and he got Adam, his sweet son, all to himself. He thought he had it all figured out, but there was just one thing he didn't account for. He hadn't met Scooter yet. . .

Katrina Kokoska

Katrina (Scooter) was an ambitious professional-to-be working just about any job she could get her hands on in order to save for graduate school. She waited tables, cocktailed and interned at ad agencies all at the same time. She certainly didn't have to time to meet a new boy, and if she had, she clearly could not consider committing to anyone in Houston. Afterall, she was headed to UT Austin in just a few short weeks. . .

How They Met

Scooter picked up a weekend gig cocktail waitressing at Smith and Wollensky in Highland Village, Houston. Rob had been working the bar there for a couple years already and could not have been less interested that Scooter was the newest staff member. I’m pretty sure she had been working there for months before he even learned her name. That was fine by Scooter. She had a couple of other jobs and her upcoming move to think about. Who cared if Rob knew her name or not?

But before long they started chatting. “Hey, how was your weekend?” turned into “Wanna hang out this weekend?” Too bad they just started hitting it off a couple weeks before Scooter moved to Austin to pursue her graduate degree. “Oh well,” they both thought. “It was good while it lasted. . .”

Scooter moved on and went to Austin, and Rob continued his bachelorhood in Houston. . . Or did they? For some reason, they just couldn’t stop sending text messages to each other. Texts turned to visits, visits turned into moving in with one another when Scooter finished school, and moving in with each other turned into a beautiful blended family. More than seven years later, Rob and his son, Adam, and Scooter and her her dog, Stanley, have become a strong, loving and committed household. Rob and Scooter just couldn’t be happier to be getting married and making it official.

Wedding Location

We will be holding both our ceremony and reception at one convenient location. We will be exchanging vows on March 8th, 2014 at 5:30 p.m. sharp in the beautiful garden area at 5226 Elm St. in Houston. Afterward, we will have access to the rest of this beautiful and contemporary venue for fun, food and music with our friends and family. http://www.5226elm.com/

Things to Note

It is important to note that there will be valet only parking at the wedding venue. Please plan on arriving a bit early to allow for the valets to get to each car. The ceremony is set to begin at 5:30 p.m. sharp.

Following the ceremony, guests will move inside to enjoy hors d’oeurves and drinks while the wedding party completes photography. Afterwards, guests will be able to enjoy a great night of fun, food, music and family. We are just so excited to celebrate with you all.
